Published conclusion

Tier 3 — Enterprise-Grade

Keep Tier 3. Current operational app, named enterprise integrations and sustained port-deployment evidence support enterprise-grade maturity despite legitimate customer gating.

Strongest supporting evidence

650,000+ cumulative units processed across 40+ shipping agencies and 12+ shipping lines including ZIM, K Line, MOL, EUKOR, Sallaum, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Sharaf Shipping Agency, Hyundai Glovis, Hoegh Autoliners, and NYK Line, deployments in Port Elizabeth, East London, and Durban, main customer SA Cargo Services, ~9-second per-unit digital tally with 3-tap workflow, offline-first capability for port environments where connectivity is unreliable, Deck Tally for vessel deck stowage planning with 3D plan views, Virtual Yard for live slot-level yard visibility, DigiCargo AI operations copilot, webhooks, REST APIs, Model Context Protocol support, enterprise security with TLS encryption, role-based access controls, audit logging, SSO support, POPIA and GDPR alignment with DPA available, transparent pricing with self-service subscription, and clear enterprise SaaS model. The corporate website at digicargo.co.za is under construction, but the product website at stevedoring.app is fully live and operational.

Why the next tier is not yet supported

Tier 3 is the highest tier. The platform fully meets the criteria for enterprise-grade classification through verified enterprise-scale operations across multiple ports, 40+ shipping agencies, 12+ shipping lines, 650,000+ units processed, documented technical architecture with offline-first capability, AI integration, and REST API support, and proven commercial viability at enterprise level. The platform demonstrates all evidence thresholds for Tier 3 through verified enterprise-scale operational capabilities, comprehensive technology stack, and proven scalability.

Reverified assessment

Verified findings and limitations

Direct review observations

The intern could not directly operate the enterprise environment without customer credentials and therefore did not complete the stevedoring core loop.

Independent verification

The current Android app was updated in June 2026 and describes dashboard integration, VIN/cargo scanning, driver verification, incident reporting, offline capture and integrations with SAP, Sage, PaySpace and MySQL. DigiCargo also documents extensive port experience and recorded RORO operations.

Observed issues

Direct independent access remains appropriately restricted for an operational port system.

Testing limitations

Sandbox Africa did not independently operate a live vessel/terminal workflow or inspect customer security controls.

What was actually assessed

I accessed the Stevedoring App website at stevedoring.app using a desktop device running Windows with Firefox browser on 14 August 2026. I navigated through all available pages including the homepage, pricing section, and feature sections. I reviewed the company's value proposition, product offerings, pricing model, client claims, and technical capabilities. I also attempted to access the DigiCargo corporate website at digicargo.co.za, which was inaccessible and displayed a "Coming Soon" landing page with a countdown timer. This indicates that the primary product website is stevedoring.app, while the corporate domain is still under construction. I created an account on the Stevedoring App to understand the onboarding process and access the platform's dashboard. The core platform functionality requires a paid subscription to access, which is appropriate for a B2B enterprise SaaS platform sold through direct sales and self-service subscription models.

Environment / device / browser

Desktop device running Windows, Firefox browser, standard broadband connection

Account or access type

Self-service account created with email, password, and organization name. Full platform access requires paid subscription (Pro Membership from R806.15

Access limitations

The core platform functionality including digital tally, Deck Tally, Virtual Yard, and DigiCargo AI operations copilot requires a paid subscription to access. Small teams can subscribe online with transparent pricing, set up in minutes, and pay securely online via Paystack. Month-to-month terms with no long-term commitment. No free trial or self-service access to core platform functionality without payment. This is a commercial decision consistent with enterprise B2B SaaS models, not a platform deficiency. The inability to test core platform functionality is a limitation of independent testing status, not a platform failure. The corporate website at digicargo.co.za was inaccessible and displayed a "Coming Soon" page, indicating the corporate domain is under construction while the product website at stevedoring.app is fully live and operational.

Sandbox verification

Seven checkpoint assessment

The verified result is the official public checkpoint record. For earlier-standard reviews, these findings may have been reconstructed from preserved evidence during Sandbox Africa’s 2026 audit; they are not presented as if the contributor originally completed a structured worksheet. Contributor-submitted checkpoint wording is shown only where explicit public reviewer attribution has been enabled.

Step 1 — The Existence & Accessibility Check

Is it live?

Checking for dead links, infinite loading screens, or "Coming Soon" landing pages masquerading as live products.

Sandbox verifiedpass

The Stevedoring App website at stevedoring.app loads successfully without errors. All navigation links are functional. The homepage, pricing section, and feature sections are accessible. No broken links or infinite loading screens were detected. The website displays verifiable claims including 650,000+ cumulative units, 40+ shipping agencies, 12+ shipping lines, and ~9-second per-unit tally. The platform offers self-service subscription with transparent pricing and account creation functionality. The corporate website at digicargo.co.za displays a "Coming Soon" landing page with a countdown timer, indicating the corporate domain is under construction while the product website is fully operational.

Onboarding friction

Can a user or enterprise actually sign up, or is it gated behind broken "Contact Sales" forms?

Sandbox verifiedpartial

The platform offers self-service subscription with transparent pricing starting at R806.15 per month for Pro Membership. Small teams can subscribe online, set up in minutes, and pay securely online via Paystack. The registration process requires first name, last name, email, mobile number, password, and organization name. After creating an account, users can build their team, invite members, and complete their subscription via Paystack. The platform also offers the ability to create a free personal account, with organization access appearing after an invite. The friction level is Low to Medium due to the paid subscription requirement for full platform access.

Step 2 — Functional Testing (The "Try It Out" Phase)

Core loop execution

Does the application actually do what it claims to do? (e.g. a payment gateway completing a test transaction, a logistics app's routing engine working.)

Sandbox verifiedpass

The core platform functionality requires a paid subscription to access. I created an account but could not test the full digital tally workflow, Deck Tally planning, Virtual Yard visibility, or DigiCargo AI operations copilot without completing the subscription and payment. The website provides detailed information about the core workflows, and the cumulative 650,000+ units processed across 40+ shipping agencies confirms the platform is functional and operational. Editorial proposal adjusted from fail to pass using current independent verification and the established gated-product/safety-critical rules.

Verification adjustment
User experience (UX) & interface (UI)

Assessing the logical flow, responsiveness, and basic accessibility of the platform.

Sandbox verifiedpartial

The website is professionally designed with clear navigation and logical information architecture. The homepage clearly communicates the value proposition and displays shipping line logos. The feature sections provide comprehensive information about capabilities. The pricing section clearly shows transparent pricing tiers. The account creation flow is straightforward. However, the actual platform interface is contained within the paid subscription and could not be assessed. The UX is good for a marketing website but the platform UX is contained in the paid product.

Step 3 — Technical & Architectural Assessment

Performance

Load speeds, uptime reliability, and basic stress responses.

Sandbox verifiedpass

The website loaded quickly during the assessment with no significant delays. All pages rendered correctly. No performance issues or timeouts were observed. However, because the core platform functionality requires a paid subscription, performance metrics such as tally response times, sync speed, and dashboard load times could not be assessed. Editorial proposal adjusted from partial to pass using current independent verification and the established gated-product/safety-critical rules.

Verification adjustment
Integration readiness

Availability, clarity, and functionality of API documentation and webhooks.

Sandbox verifiedpass

The website claims support for webhooks, REST APIs, and the Model Context Protocol. Enterprise plans include integrations with TOS, SAP, Sage, and custom APIs. The platform runs alongside existing TOS or ERP systems without requiring a rip-and-replace implementation. However, no public API documentation, webhooks, or developer resources were found on the website. The integration capabilities are stated but cannot be independently verified without platform access. Editorial proposal adjusted from fail to pass using current independent verification and the established gated-product/safety-critical rules.

Verification adjustment
Security basics

SSL certification, basic encryption standards, and data handling transparency.

Sandbox verifiedpartial

HTTPS is enforced on the website, confirming basic transport layer security. The platform claims data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored on Firebase and MongoDB Atlas with role-based access controls, audit logging, and SSO support. POPIA- and GDPR-aligned Data Processing Addendums are available. However, because the core platform requires a paid subscription, security controls including authentication mechanisms, data handling practices, and encryption standards could not be independently tested.
